I recently stumbled across this free app, available on the App Store, which is designed to work as a remote control for Windows Media Center on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
The app works over wi-fi, so you’ll need a wi-fi connection for it to work. You’ll also need to download the Mediamote server from here and install the software.
Once it is installed, simply run the Mediamote app from your iPod Touch or iPhone, select the PC that it is installed on and then you are good to go.
Now it is up and running, you’ll see that the app has some quite concise options that allow you to control most aspects of Media Center.
Interestingly it even controls your windows media player 11 as well…
By default it lets you to control the windows media center but when you shake the phone it pops up with a choice of choosing between widows media player and windows media center. Choose your choice and go head rocking…
Lets go ahead and configure it :
1. Search and Install the App “Mediamote” in your iphone
2. Download the Mediamote PC installation package.
3.Ensure that either iTunes or Bonjour for Windows is installed.
4.Ensure that all firewalls are configured to allow the Mediamote server to communicate on port 34020.
5.Start the Mediamote application and select your PC from the list of automatically discovered servers.
6.When you first attempt to access your computer using Mediamote a message will be displayed asking if you would like to allow access for your device. Choose yes to allow access.
And thats it … you are all set… Njoy Controlling ur Media Player from IPHONE for Free
