Immediately after updating to iOS 4, some users may notice that Exchange ActiveSync Mail, Contacts, or Calendars do not sync, or sync very slowly. In addition, some Exchange Server administrators may notice their servers running slowly.
To work around this issue, users should install a configuration profile from Apple that increases the amount of time the iOS 4 device will wait for the Exchange Server to respond to its sync requests. For best results, the profile should be installed on as many iOS 4 devices at your company as possible.
To install the profile:
Use Safari on your iOS 4 device to download the configuration profile. It may be easiest to read this article with your iPhone or iPod touch and tap the download link there, but you may also email the attachment to another email account on your iOS 4 device, and tap the attachment to open it.
Tap Install to install the profile, and enter your passcode if prompted.
A warning message will appear because the profile is not signed. Tap Install Now.
Tap Done to complete the installation, then power off your device and power it back on.
Wait for your Exchange data to finish syncing.
After installation, the profile will be listed under Settings > General > Profile.
Apple has released iOS4, a software update for the iPhone and iPod touch – here’s how to get the most from the new operating system.
:: Folders – Sick of having your applications spread across multiple pages on your iPhone? Never fear, because iOS4 allows you to create folders for your apps. Each folder can store up to 12 apps, allowing you to collate your travel apps, productivity apps, games and social networking tools into single folders. The iPhone will automatically give each folder a name, based on the kind of apps it contains, but you can also give the folder your own label if you want. You can create folders through the iPhone emulator in iTunes, or on the device itself, by pressing and holding an app icon until it wobbles, and then dragging and dropping it over the icon of another app you’d like to place in the same folder. Run the software to Ra1n your iPhone (Click the “make it ra1n” icon).Takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
After iPhone reboots, open blackra1n.app and you should now see “sn0w”.
Click “sn0w” to install Blacksn0w. This will Unlock your iPhone 3G, 3GS running 3.1.2 firmware on 05.11.07 baseband.
For iPhone 3G and 3GS who previously installed blackra1n:
If you are a loyal blackra1n user who kept the blackra1n.app on your iPhone, run it. You will see Icy replaced by an option “ra1n”. Install this to upgrade your app. After upgrading, run blackra1n.app again. You will see “sn0w”. Install this, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone.

Good news for the peoples who accidentally upgraded their iPhone 3G to OS 3.1 beta. iPhone OS 3.1 Beta updates your current baseband to 5.08.01which is unlockable at the moment because Ultrasn0w is not supported by the latest baseband. Bigboss released Fyzzyband 3.1b1-1. Fuzzyband Downgrader is a safer iPhone 3G Baseband Downgrader as this one detects your baseband and bootloader version and does the wright thing first. More general 3GFuzzyband Downgrader detects your bootloader and baseband and downgrade it with a simple click. Fuzzyband Downgrader available in ICY and Cydia just refresh your sources and search n install the application.
latest version of Fuzzyband Downgrader has two features Upgrades / Downgrades baseband to 4.26.08 for unlocking with the ultrasn0w tool released by the iPhone Dev-Team. If you are on a lower baseband than 4.26.08 Upgrading will put the 4.26.08 baseband from 3.0 on the modem so that ultrasn0w may be installed from Cydia. Downgrading works from any version greater than 4.26.08 (currently 5.08.01 is the newest version available, found in 3.1 beta 1). It will put your baseband back at version 4.26.08 which is the current unlockable version by Ultrasn0w.
Downgrading only works on phones that have the 05.08 (5.8) Bootloader from the factory. This is a very limited number of phones that were released in the first few weeks of the 3G production cycle. If you do not know your bootloader then you can run Fuzzyband and it will report the version number for you. In my case i have bootloader 5.09 but my baseband is 4.26.08 and i m very concerned about baseband updates. So after the OS 3.1 final release I’ll wait for the Dev team release.
Make sure your phone is connected to computer and run the Unlock3G_3.0 batch file and follow the onscreen instructions. (T-mobile users turn off 3G in iPhone setting before applying Ultrasn0w)
Now reboot your phone once and if your EDGE or 3G is not working yet then reset network settings once in setting option.
The iPhone Dev-Team’s Ultrasn0w unlock for legacy iPhone 3G owners is ready. The unlock works with the original iPhone as well but not the iPhone 3GS; for that you’ll have to be patient.
Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
Run Cydia or Icy
Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
Reboot your iPhone 3G
T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
